showing traffic log on a HP-E5406zl Layer3 switch?
Hello,
I would need to show what kind of IP traffic passes a special interface on our Layer 3 switch (E5406zl).
Or if that is not possible, is there any way to filter the whole traffic for a special network/IP range?
How is this done normally? I couldn't find anything googling, except buying additional products that do this task.
Regards,
ND

You could set up Sflow sampling on the interface; it then sends headers for 1 in n packets to a collector. If you don't want to buy HPs tools, alternatives are available (commercial, fremium or open-source).

sFlowTrend http://www.inmon.com/products/sFlowTrend.php is a good option for deciding if Richard's solution is workable for you - it's free for ad-hoc monitoring of individual switches, and doesn't require installation.
If it works for you, you could get the Pro version, which has long-term data retention and constant monitoring of multiple switches available.
