Spanning tree

i came across an article online suggesting that it is not good practise to leave vlans in or to use the IST.

official hp documentation i have read doesn't mention this though.

what is your advice on this?

Re: Spanning tree

I believe the rationale is that it couples the internal spanning tree with the external one. So if, for example, you lose the connection to the common root everything on any IST 0 will take a hit. That would be a bad idea if you had the common root on another site; I'm not sure it makes a lot of difference in your case though.
