Stack HP A3100-24 Port v2 EI Switch JD320B
Hi all,
I tried to stack the HP A3100-24 Port v2 EI Switch JD320B Switches.
I downloaded a config manual from the HP Support site. After trying creating the stack with having a config on the switches I decided to set them back to factory settings. I then upgraded it to Release R5203P03 again and entered the following config on the master device:
stack ip-pool <ipaddress> <subnet mask> (having a /28 subnet - Only two devices will be in this stack)
stack stack-port <number of ports for stack> port <port> <port number> (stacking port on master which is connected to member switch)
stack role master
On the member switch I entered the following command:
stack stack-port <number of ports for stack> port <port> <port number> (Stacking port on member which is connected to master)
The HP Documentation says that the master will then detect the members automatically.
But the master didn't find the member, also after a reboot there were no members.
There was no other config on this switch (Only Facroty Settings with new Firmware)
I also tried the same with the newest Firmware release R5203P07. Same result.
Does someone know why the master cannot find the members?
Thank you very much for your help.
P.S. This thread has been moved from Switches, Hubs, Modems (Legacy ITRC forum) to ProCurve / ProVision-Based. -HP Forum Moderator
