Support for 3rd Party DA Cables in Procurve?
Does anyone know if HP has plans to ever allow non-branded HP DA cables for use in their Procurve\Aruba switches ? I fond that the 3 options for length are not enough. It would be nice to have I have to have DA cables in more lengths - 2,4,5,6 meters. Most of the big networking vendors have gotten rid of this limitation and there are alot of 3rd party vendors that offer great cables in custom lengths.

Re: Support for 3rd Party DA Cables in Procurve?
With the latest firmware (starting from 16.03 or .04) you can use non-ProCurve transceivers on the newer switches (typically branded as Aruba). Non-ProCurve transceivers will be unsupported.
DAC (Direct Attach Copper) cables typically need some additional coding to match the varying lengths, impedance, etc. Longer ones are unlikely to work.
