Syslog information switch JH149A

Dear,

I really need some help to understand why so many messages are appearing in the log event of my company's Aruba switch.

The messagem is:

PVID mismatch discovered on GigabitEthernet1/0/17 (PVID 11), with switch831693 gi1 (PVID 55).

Tank you so much!

Valim, Julio.

Re: Syslog information switch JH149A

Hi Julio,

PVID is something like a Native Vlan. In Pro-Curve we say this as Untagged Vlan.

Check out this below link, which explains the types of VLAN and the details : https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=mmr_kc-0102233

From the error message, I see that the int Gi1/0/17 has a PVID-11 and the connecting link to another switch on the int Gi1 has a PVID-55, so they dont have a same native VLAN across them or in other words, they dont have the default VLAN as the same between them.

If the above message alleviates your query, please don't forget to give Kudos!

Gunz!

Re: Syslog information switch JH149A

OK! Thanks.

This problem may be associated with frequent packet loss and poor quality when we are using the ips phones in my network.

If yes, how can I solve it?

Best regards.
