VLANS on HP 5308xl
Hi,
I am trying to setup a simple vlan I add the vlan and the IP route on the HP 5308xl. The new vlan is vlan4 the problem is vlan 1,2,3 can access VLAN 4 the vlan 4 ports are untagged in vlan 4 and "No" in all other vlans. For testing this is all off the HP 5308xl so I am not trunking or tagging these ports.
Thanks
MJF

Re: VLANS on HP 5308xl
Hi MJF,
What you are seeing is normal behaviour - if you have enabled IP routing, then the switch will allow access between all VLANs that are defined locally. If you want to restrict traffic you must use ACLs. Alternatively, if you don't want the VLAN to be routed at all, you can just remove the IP address from the switch and it will isolate that VLAN.
