Which GBIC for 5412zl?

Hello,

I've some 5412zl-24 iSCSI Switches and I need to connect 2 more ports but only have HP 10Gb SR SFP+ (455885-001) GBICs leftover from our NC523SFP cards. After plugging in the GBICs I got the error message "FFI: Port D4 self test failure ERR: 00010080" and the switch showed Fail on the front.

Is this type of GBIC compatible with the 5412zl module?

Generally, ProCurve switches only support (genuine) HP ProCurve transceivers - like the ones you can find on that document above.

I see that 10GBASE-SR GBICs are supported, but I don't know what product type the one is that I have. I've only the type and number that is printed on it: HP 10Gb SR SFP+, 455885-001. Any Idea which HP product number is?

455885-001 is the Part Number, and it's a BladeSystem transceiver for the c7000 and c3000.

That's strange. We got them with NC523SFP cards.

ProCurve switches only work with ProCurve optics/DACs. The optic or DAC must be coded with the encrypted V2 ProCurve vendor ID - nothing else (including non-ProCurve HP optics/DACs) will work.
