Hewlett-Packard GmbH erneut Spitzenreiter im Frauen-Karriere-Index
Excellent framework conditions for female employees
For the third time in a row, Hewlett-Packard GmbH took first place in the women's career index under the patronage of Manuela Schwesig, Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Older adults, Women and Youth. Hewlett-Packard GmbH was able to improve even further with 89 out of 100 possible points compared to previous years and expand its leading position. The company did particularly well in the categories "Commitment" (93 points) and "Framework conditions" (97 points).
"We are committed to women's careers because it is an important success factor for our company. It drives innovation, increases our ability to change and helps us to attract qualified staff," says Angelika Gifford, member of the executive board and executive diversity sponsor of Hewlett- Packard GmbH. "The renewed FKI top position confirms that we are on the right track. This spurs us on to consistently pursue our goals."
The Women's Career Index (FKI) was launched in 2013 by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs in order to objectively and independently examine the opportunities for advancement of women in German companies. The FKI evaluates the participating companies' figures, data and facts in three categories: status / dynamics, commitment and framework conditions.
The sub-index "Status / Dynamics" refers to the status and development of structural data on the proportion of women in the organization, especially in relation to management positions (Hewlett-Packard GmbH: 76 out of 100 points). Personnel development, communication and measures flow into the "Commitment" category (Hewlett-Packard GmbH: 93 out of 100 points). Finally, the "framework" includes corporate guidelines, transparency of the framework internally and externally, and flexibility in work design (Hewlett-Packard GmbH: 97 out of 100 points).
"As an IT company, we support our customers in the transformation into the digital future. This is not only a technical, but also a cultural change. We are convinced that a higher proportion of women in management positions helps us to drive this change forward," says Eva Faenger, Diversity Manager at Hewlett-Packard GmbH. "Our open corporate culture is a plea for diversity. It supports us in our determination to continue a change process, the aim of which is to make women's careers a matter of course."
