Forage virtual work experience gives students a taste of working at HPE
Forage virtual work experience gives students a taste of working at HPE
Virtual work experience expert Forage has teamed up with HPE to offer virtual experience programmes, aimed at students. These online courses provide free training modules that give each student an idea of the varied teams and roles at HPE. Covering Presales, Software Engineering and Digital Sales, Forage offers enrolment to study with no prior experience, at the preferred pace of each student, with a certificate upon completion.
Each programme is self-paced, offering an idea of how many hours the course should take and providing comprehensive training on the given subject. A deep dive into each role shows the student exactly what they can expect from the real job, giving a taste within the programme to see if they want to explore the career further. Tasks are tailored to the specific job and sector, and the overall course gives a better understanding of HPE as a company.
Whatโs on offer?
The Presales virtual experience programme provides an opportunity to learn how to research potential solutions for a sales opportunity, how to discuss the solutions with a team and present these solutions to the customer.
The Software Engineering virtual experience programme offers a chance to design and build a web service using Java Spring Boot and HPE GreenLake cloud platform, before adding application support and unit tests.
The Digital Sales virtual experience programme helps students identify target customers and present findings in a PowerPoint presentation. Time management and prioritisation skills are also part of the course.
All HPE courses should take between four and six hours to complete
Next steps
The virtual experience programmes provide students with key skills that will help them with interviews, as well as a certificate upon completion of each course. Looking to attract students interested in pursuing a job in tech, the HPE recruitment team are notified of each successful programme completion, adding the students to the candidate pipeline and sourcing pool for internships. This means there is an increased opportunity for a step into the real world of HPE.
Forage and HPE have developed these experience programmes to increase the understanding of the varied and diverse roles there are in the technology sector. These courses provide a simple and easy way for students to learn a little more about the roles, with no pressure or commitment. All virtual experience programmes are free, with the potential of exploring the role further with an internship.
Weโre passionate about bringing in new talent, and this partnership with Forage gives us the ideal opportunity to identify students who are interested in working in tech. Giving them a taste of our job roles may just ignite that spark to explore our internship programme or other jobs here at HPE.
