My customer is having 4 numbers of HP storage works SAN switch 2/16 (HP16B).Firmware version is 3.1.
The admin password for these switches are lost.
Is there any way to recover the passwords..?

If anybosy have a clue , please forward at the earliest.....
With thanks in advance...
Ajith

Re: Admin password recovery for SAN switch
Hi,
You have to contact the local suport to get a special firmware for password recovery.
At the lik below you will find more info about password recovery. The process for fabric os 3.0 is the same as for 2.6.
ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/san/util/SecureFabric26.pdf
Best regards

Re: Admin password recovery for SAN switch
Hi,
Getting hold of the password recovery firmware mentioned in a previous post can be difficult, if not impossible, if the switches are out of support.
However, if you have access to another SAN switch with a password that you do know, then it's possible to use the PasswordReset tool, available from Brocade's website, to reset the admin passwords.
You will however be connecting another switch into an unknown configuration. From what you've posted, it sounds like this setup might be live at the moment, so you should proceed with caution.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Rob
