Re: all virtual disk not visiable

Log into Command View and drill down into the areas that have the yellow triangle wit hthe !

You can also look at the front of the controllers to see if the lcd screen says anything important..

Re: all virtual disk not visiable

Hi,

Check the status off the cache batteries. When EACH controller has one failed battery, the EVA is unpresenting the VDISK in order to keep the data safe.
If the batteries are failed they need to be replaced ASAP.

Re: all virtual disk not visiable

The current firmware is HP03 and it is inside this bundle.

However, this might not be the root cause of the problem.

First follow the attention marks in hardware section in CV to find the problem indicators.

Give HP a call and send them the CV logs.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: all virtual disk not visiable

As long as the array has this status, I would not touch it until HP contacts you ...

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: all virtual disk not visiable

i once faced the same situation, i can see nothing but event log in CV. but the root cause was a poor guy accidentally unplug an I/O module A of a disk enclosure(EVA6K 2C4D). when i push back the I/O module A, everything is ok.

maybe the disk fw is not the point, you need to check more details, eg: does loop switches works fine? etc.

Re: all virtual disk not visiable

Did you recently insert a new drive into the array?

The controller log image you posted is not enough to see the full detail of the situation.

Additionally, your EVA's XCS is at 6.000.. kind of old now and unsupport.

Best suggestion has already been posted...

Contact HP Support... even if you do not have a support contract (which you should), they should still be able to help you out even if it takes a couple of days.

I suspect that it will probably involve updating the EVA's XCS software as well as disk firmware as well as command view...

In the mean time... can you drill into the "Hardware" folder in Command View and post more screen shots of the warnings there...
