Attaching physical SAN storage from a EVA 5000 to a VM
I am using VMWare ESX 2.5.1. I have taken an image of a Proliant DL580 G3 server which has SAN connectivity to a HP EVA 5000. I have used P2V Assitant to turn the image into a working VM. Now, I want to present the SAN LUN from the physical machine to the new VM. How do I accomplish this?

Re: Attaching physical SAN storage from a EVA 5000 to a VM
hi
vmware does not work in this way i.e. exs sees the LUNs and the vms do no. the vms see the storage as a localy attached SCSI disk.
Set the luns at the ESX level and configure the multipathing from within the console, when that is done then simply create a new virtual disk in the vm and that will use LUN space that u have assigned to esx, again vms do not see LUNs
hope this helps
