automatic notify if VA7400 goes down
Hi,
Happy to see the forums are up and running again. I've got a VA7400 which has gone down already twice. Now I would like to be notifed (email, pager, mobile phone) when it goes down again or other problems occur. How do you solve this best? By scripting it yourself (any examples?) or do you have to use eg Operations (which seems a bit overkill for just monitoring the SAN) or use specific SAN software?
Any guidelines how to implement this are more than welcome!
Kurt

Re: automatic notify if VA7400 goes down
Kurt,
VA management software, CommandView SDM, is capable using SNMP traps to notify, for example, OpenView NNM about events happening with SAN. I've never did it before by myself, but at least now you know direction to dig to :o)
Do you know whys your VA7400 went down? Could you please attach 'armdsp -a' output to your next reply?
Eugeny
