booting from VA7410
How can I boot my Windows 2000 Servers across fiber channel fabric from VA7410?
I can't find any documentation of this from HP, is it supported?

Re: booting from VA7410
The VA7410 is supported as a boot device when you use one of the following FC adapaters: Emulex LP8000, LP9002, Qlogic QLA2200F and QLA2310F. Emulex driver revs supported are 4-4.53a5, 4-4.53a7, 4-4.81a9; Qlogic driver revs are: 7.5.05, and 8.1.3.
There really isn't anything special about the VA configuration for booting from it; all the config details are part of the Host Adapters' BIOS. See the adapter BIOS docs for details on how to configure it to boot from the SAN.
Good luck!

No matter where you go, there you are.

Re: booting from VA7410
If you boot from a directly attached Array everything is OK.
The problem is if you have the swap disk of Windows on the SAN. Windows has a poor recovery for the swap disk (timeouts etc), you could end up with a blue screen!
This is not just my opinion. Have a look at:

Cheers
