Booting Linux System on SAN - Help Updating Kernel

I have a DL360 which successfully boots RHEL4U4 off the SAN using the instructions in the HP document "HP iSCSI Boot for Linux User Guide". The only problem that I have is that the process uses a custom kickstart file to load the iSCSI drivers into the kernel during the initial OS installation. You're essentially stuck with the kernel as it exists then and you can't update it with any patches. Does anyone have a solution to this? THANKS!

Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?
