Brocade 2800 an D8602A isue with w2k
Drivers are 3.0.4107.0 for the HBA (Agilent HHBA-5101C).
I could previously read in this forum that it was told to change Agilent HBA by Qlogic HBA.
Is somebody could help us?
Many thanks.

Re: Brocade 2800 an D8602A isue with w2k
My isue was, in fact, that w2k server auto-detect 2 other SCSI/RAID generic adapter that confict the D8602A/B. I got this 2 generic card only when installing w2k with Navigator CD (not when manually installed by MS CD). If I uninstall these cards, w2k auto-detect them again at boot and hang. So I just disable it and know, all is OK.
May be the sequence to install driver and change the registry is important as well. I always done the registry change in the same time than installing driver.
Many thanks for your reply.
Bye.

Re: Brocade 2800 an D8602A isue with w2k
I have had almost the same problems about a month ago where the io's initiated on an xp would hang after about 15G was copied, after that, the system would hang.
We finally found out that the fc agilent cards were installed in the wrong pci slots and this would cause these strange behaviors. The server was an LT6000 and the correct slots were supposed to be 5 and 6 ... could this be the same situation here?
Cheers.

Re: Brocade 2800 an D8602A isue with w2k
I really think that HBA D8602B may be good card, but the drivers 4107 are bugged.
Is anybody try Qlogic HBA in the same kind of plateform.
Kind regards
Didier.

Re: Brocade 2800 an D8602A isue with w2k
I'm effectivly pretty sure that the HP's HBA are not so "clean". Drivers are probably the origin of different problem.
FYI, we have experienced other trouble due to w2k auto discovering Generic SCSI/RAID card when booting. Uninstall the card don't solve the problem, but disable them was good. Note that this trouble was encontering only when installing the OS from the HP Navigator CD.
Kind regards
Didier.
