Brocade FabOS Mcdata E/OS interop compatibility

Hi All

Could anyone provide an answer to the following question?

I have a mixed Mcdata Brocade fabric in interop mode. Mcdata switches are on E/OS 7.01.032 / 7.01.005 and Brocade on FabOS 4.4.0f.

I need to upgrade the Brocade switches to 5.1.1 or 5.2.1. I have been informed that Mcdata must be on E/OS 8.xx.xxx or later to run in interop mode with FabOS 5.2.1. Does this also apply to 5.1.1?

Also, if I were to upgrade my Mcdata switches to E/OS 8.xx.xxx or later before I upgraded my Brocade switches, would the newer E/OS run ok in interop with the old Brocade FabOS 4.4.0f?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Steve

Re: Brocade FabOS Mcdata E/OS interop compatibility

You might want to plan on upgrading 1 fabric at a time, performing the upgrade on both switches.
