Unfortunately, the silkworm 2400 is a Brocade switch, not a QLogic switch. That doc will probably not be much help.

The default user/password is definitely "admin" and "password" so give that a try first.


If that does not work, you will need a serial cable to connect to the switch. The Silkworm 2400 is an old 1GB 8port SAN Switch. I believe it has a console connection below port 7? A DB9 connector?

You will also need to contact brocade. The last time I had to reset a password on an old 1GB switch, they had to give me a file to upload to the switch while connected to the console in a "pre-boot" shell.

You can also try "factory" and "password", but I don't remember if the old 2.x firmware had those users defined.

The link is for a Qlogic "SANbox" switch - that is a completely different animal than a Brocade "SilkWorm 2400".

On rather old versions of the 2400, the serial console was not locked with a login. On recent versions, you need to contact the vendor to either supply you with the information or send somebody to do it. I never had to do it (phew...), but got told some years ago it was not cheap. That might have changed - just ask.
