brocade switch ISL
Hi
am trying to connect one HP (Brocade) storage works 4/16 san switch to another HP (Brocade)
storage works 2/16 san switch.
But on my first witch port status is showing as "segmented,incompatible" and the second switch is showing as "segmented,VC Link Init incompat"
both switches are running with firmware 5.3.0

Hi, the domain ID must be unique, so most probably u have 2 Domain IDs with the same number. For more info this thread could help you...

Hello,
please check if the switches have unique domain ids. There are some more settings, which you should check. Take a look into the SAN Design Reference Guide. You can find the latest version here:

You must also make sure that the "PID format" on both switches is identical. "PID format" is included in the output of the configshow command.
