Can I Manage HSG Arrays on the SMA Alongside CommandView/EVA?

If so, how? Do I need to simply zone the SMA Window's server's HBAs so it can see the HSG80's controllers -- and just dicover the HSGs?

I already see an HSG80 Element Manager in my SMA - "Devices" but no discovered HSG nor have I attempted to discover them as I am unsure they're zoned..

Thanks!

Yes you can.

Yes, basically thats is the IDEA.

Enable Automanage, and the HSG should be diplayed in the HSG network.

Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Ivan,

Thanks a lot.

BTW, since we're licensed for the SMA.. and can see HSG Element Manager -- does it mean it's okay to use it? Is there not an activation license for this?

The HSG Element Manager is licensed with the SMA hardware/software combination.

Uwe or Ivan,

Do I need a CCL or presentation LUN from each of my HSG arrays presented to the SMA?

Thanks

Re: Can I Manage HSG Arrays on the SMA Alongside CommandView/EVA?

Yes, of course, but a CCL is presented at LUN address 0 by default if the HSG is configured with SCSI_VERSION = SCSI-3, which is quite standard these days.
