Changing Drive Letters In Windows - EVA 5000
Hi All,
Im not sure if this the right forum but here goes.
I have an issue with some LUNS presented to a C class blade server. We successfully presented some LUNS to the blade server without having any issues. We recently discovered we used some drive letters within Windows that are needed for Altiris blade imageing.
We have changed the driver letter assignment within windows but the Altiris software is still seeing the driver letter being used. So it seemed the configuration is still being stored either within Windows or on the HBA card. I have also tried unpresenting the disk and representing them again, and within explorer you can see the driver letters have changed, but if you check using command prompt it still sees the old configuration.
Is there a reset command on the HBA, which is a qlogic QMH2462, that i can try?
Any other suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Kishor

Re: Changing Drive Letters In Windows - EVA 5000
Hi,
I don't believe there's anything in the HBA that will allow you to do that.
It very much sounds like a Windows thing, rather than a hardware thing, or anything on the EVA.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Changing Drive Letters In Windows - EVA 5000
Hi,
The windows driver letter will not be stored on the HBA card. Presenting and unpresenting will not help either.
I guess the information is still stored in the Altiris software rather than in windows. Try changing the LUN and I think you will not see it again in the Altiris. Otherwise try to reset the Database of the Altiris prog.
