Hi,
I have 2 of the above switches FW. Version 2.1 (1b) and when I try to change the password through Cisco Device manager or Fabric manager it promts for the cli password, now I hve changed this (or attempted to)to be the same as the GUI login password, now I cannot log into the switches via telnet with any of the previously used passwords.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Andy

Hi,
Cisco MDS password recovery:
connect to the switch console 9600 8N1 no flow control.
Reboot the switch
When the switch begins its SAN-OS software boot sequence, press the Ctrl-] key sequence. This key sequence brings up the switch(boot)# prompt.
Change to configuration mode: switchboot#configuration terminal
reset the administrator password: switch(boot-config)#admin-password
Exit to the EXEC mode: switch(boot-config)#exit
load the SAN-OS software: switch(boot)#load bootflash:
save configuration: switch#copy running-config startup-config

If anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
