Cluster servers connected to EVA8100

Hi there,

when i add the second node to the cluster it cann't detect the Quorum, and the adding process faild.
every thing is configured correctly, i thought that the cluster service cann't detect the Quorum because it seeing it through more than one path eventhough i'm installing the multipath I/O?

any suggestions.

Giving us a clue as to what operating system you're using might help...

Re: Cluster servers connected to EVA8100

thankx for replying,
i'm using win2k3x64 sp2.
with 2Qlogic (QLE2460) HBA cards and MPIO.
this is a new installation for clustered exchange 2007 mailbox role, when creating the first node .... every thing works fine, and the qourum was detected.
but when adding the second node it fails because it cann't detect the qourum !!!!

Re: Cluster servers connected to EVA8100

Hi,

check the following for the compatibility pls:
QLE2460,
driver Storport 9.1.7.17,
bios 2.02 (1.73af)
mpio full featured dsm 3.00.00

check also if the quorum drive is presented also to the second cluster node

the pain is one part of the reality

Re: Cluster servers connected to EVA8100

Hi,
Thankx for replying,

about your questions,
Driver version:9.1.7.16
Bios version:1.26
Firmware version:4.03.01

but let me explain this:
when i create the firstnode(node1) the cluster created successfully, when i am trying to add the second node(node2) the cluster service couldnot start!!!

well, i evict first node(node1) and recreate the cluster starting with second node(node2) as the first node in the cluster , the cluster created successfully, when i am trying to add the first node(node1 in this case) the cluster service cannot start!!!

both nodes are configured correctly regarding to disk presentation and tested before starting the installation.

Re: Cluster servers connected to EVA8100

try the option "Advanced (minimal) configuration" during adding the second node. This bypasses several tests the installer does.

It's not a SAN related problem. It's Microsoft Cluster Setup related. Check the following article:
