Command View ABM in EVA 4400 Starter Kit

Hi,

Just a question?¿.

I'm checking the Product Bulletin and I see two versions of EVA4400 (normal and starter kit). In "normal" version I can order the ABM option (for array based management), but in the starter kit I can not.

Is that correct? Does the starter kit version include the ABM option?

Thanks for your response.

ABM means Array-Based Management, having Command View installed on the management module. This depends on the management module firmware and can be enabled by just flashing the latest version.

There are two versions:

0001.1000 with Command View 8.1

T5494-10006.zip

0001.2000 with Command View 9.0

T5494-10010.zip

Both need an updated XCS firmware on the controllers too, 09006000 or 09500000

Thanks for your response.

But Iâ d like to be completely sure, because Iâ m going to sell that solution, and I donâ t want at installing time result with the problem that I need an additional server to manage the SAN because It was a Starter Kit.

Re: Command View ABM in EVA 4400 Starter Kit

The starter kit is an EVA + 8 disks + 4 HBA + SmartStart 2.1 + 4 1TB licences

It's a hardware bundle, the hardware is the same as if you purchase it separately.

ABM is enabled by the management firmware (0001.1000 or 0001.2000), this can be flashed anytime, and current EVAs come with the firmware updated.
