Command View EVA 4.1 + Linux Host
Hi,
The problem is about how to make visible more than one lun to a Proliant linux server connected to a EVA3000 storage system. The first lun is OK, but the second, third and so on are seen under Linux OS,even declared the same manner in CV 4.1.
In command View EVA, in the hosts properties, it is not possible to cjoose the "Linux" OS.
The choice we made is "Unknown" (See attachment)
The informations in my possession:
EVA3000 VCS V3.028
Command View EVA 4.1
Linux Redhat ES 4 (kernel 2.6.9-42.ELsmp)
HBA: Qlogic 2340
Driver 8.01.04-d7
Any idea?
Thanks for help,
Laurent HEY

Re: Command View EVA 4.1 + Linux Host
The correct OS type for your configuration is (Sun) SOLARIS.

Re: Command View EVA 4.1 + Linux Host
Thanks Uwe,
In Command View EVA, I will change the host OS type "on-line" (from "Unknown" to "Solaris") (the server is in production).
Does it mean that i will loose the connection to the first LUN for a short time, but the data will be kept safe?
And/Or need to reboot the server?
And/Or need to backup/restore the data?
