COMMAND VIEW INSTALLATION
Hallo
we want perform a test with a new EVA 4000,so we have to install HP Command view v6 in the proliant with windows 2003 storage server.
the procedure followed is :
-installation of Emulex fc card in the proliant
-installation of driver Emulex last version
-update of Emulex firmware
-Installation of Secure PATH sp1
-installation of HP Command view suite
The problem is that the service Command view cannot start. Error message :
Error 1067:the process terminated unexpectedly
we want to know what could be done to resolve this problem.
Best regards.

Re: COMMAND VIEW INSTALLATION
Dear elharti:
What I can determine from internet research is related to SNMP / OpenView calls from Command View.
However, This error seems to be a generic WINDOWS error that shows up most often with failing RPC agents.
Here's a fairly good thread. Hope it helps.

Re: COMMAND VIEW INSTALLATION
I think the error 1067 is just windows saying that a service terminated unexpectedly. I doesn't say why it terminated. I would look for some error logs in the directory where commandview is installed. and also the event logs
Commandview might be trying to bind to a TCP port that is already in use.
Also, you list updating the emulex drivers. Make sure you use the Driver update package downloaded for HP. I've had problems connecting commandview to an EVA using the generic FC drivers.
I would also use the free MPIO software (download from HP) instead of secure path.
