Command View Lock-UP

All right I saw another thread, my brand new fresh off the pallet EVA ran perfectly for 4 days . Than command view locked up, the storage management server it was utilization ran through the roof by some unidentified 'java' process.

So I uninstalled everything, including MPIO and reinstalled everything from basically a bare server. Still the run away process went away but command view couldn't find anything.

I was reading that another person had this problem and they needed to shut down, completely their array. This fixed it. This was an option for me as it is brand new and in pre-production. This will be a real problem after next week when the LUNS go to work.

Whats the deal? Bad combination of Windows SP, Patches, JVM, XCS and command view?

Eric,

I know it may take some work, but can you list all your versions of VCS, disk firmware, switch firmware, HBA model/firmware version, Patches, Java & CV Version, etc. ?

The EVA is sensitive to a mismatch in versions of the above items listed. You probably are on the right track already!

Hi,

I don't believe you'd normally use MPIO drivers on a SMS...

Hope this helps,
