CPQKGPSA errors

On my Windows 2003. Exchange 2003 server I'm getting in my system event log \device\scsi\cpqkgpsa2 is not ready for access yet. I reapplied the driver 5-4.82.a16 and upgraded the firmware to 3.91a1 and rebooted, still I'm seeing this msg. What am I missing?

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

Hi,

are we talking about a cluster here?
If so, is the hardware combination certified by MS?

greetings,

Michael

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

It is a cluster, not sure if it's MS certified, it's a FC2101 card connecting to a Compaq 16 port 1gb switch Compaq DL580 server, this config has been running good until it was upgraded from W2K to W2K3. The event iD is 15, I forgot to put that in the original msg

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

Clay,

has there been any change to your SAN infrastructure with your upgrade to Windows 2003? Have you checked the registry settings for your fibre channel adapters? Do you have 2 adapters - can you see any LUNs on the other one?

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

There hasn't been any change to the SAN,the registry was changed by the Windows 2003 install, I reapplied the KGPSA driver and it reset some information. QueueDepth, QueueTarget is missing and resetTPRLO=2 it used to be 1. What should the registry look like for the Driver Parameters?

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

Clay,

I have replaced all Emulex adapters with QLogic here some time ago and I have not seen a setup with the latest drivers, sorry. Somebody else?

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

Have you tried rolling back the Firmware to 3.81a1?
This is what we use on our Exch-Clusters on FC2101's.

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

Andy,

did you _have_ to roll back for a reason?

It might be interesting to note that we had 2 customers where we had to get back to older firmware with the FCA2354 adapter in an AlphaServer DS25 using a specific patch level of Tru64 Unix. HP could reproduce the problem is working on a fix.

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

Hi, it's a good idea for you to upgrade your server with the support pack for win2003. After that i dont see this problem on my server.

Bye!

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

Uwe,
In all honesty, we didn't roll back to 3.82a1, we never went forward from this point... insufficient justification for change.... :o)

Re: CPQKGPSA errors

I see. Although I have been bitten by outdated drivers/firmware versions I agree that sometimes it's good not to try for the latest.
