Difference in Port Type
what is the difference in Port types, i have brocade 8/24 and 2/8 built-in to MSA-1000.
i have connected the 2/8 (MSA-1000) to Brocade 8/24.
On Brocade 8/24 it displays different type of ports.
Port 0: F
Port 1: F
Port 2: U
Port 3: F
Port 4: F
Port 5: E
Port 6: U
Port 7: U
Port 8: U
Port 9: U
Port 10: U
Port 11: U
Port 12: U
Port 13: U
Port 14: U
Port 15: U
Port 16: no interface (Gbic)

U-Port: (universal) - waiting for connection
E-Port: Connection to another switch (ISL)

On some of the smaller switches (not sure about the internal MAS switch), ISL is a licensed feature - no license = no ISL). Licenseshow may help.

and perhaps a switchshow from the 2/8 MSA switch..
Or, if you can log into the web gui for the 2/8, on the admin applet/tab/whatever, there is a button to show a report that you can save to html. post it.
