Re: Difference in Port Type

F-Port: A device is logged onto this fabric

U-Port: (universal) - waiting for connection

E-Port: Connection to another switch (ISL)

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Difference in Port Type

Better to check with switchshow or something similar. Are there different domain IDs configured?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Difference in Port Type

Port 0 and 1 are L-Ports.

On some of the smaller switches (not sure about the internal MAS switch), ISL is a licensed feature - no license = no ISL). Licenseshow may help.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Difference in Port Type

Can you post the output of...

fabricshow

version (or maybe versionshow)

for both switches in question.

and perhaps a switchshow from the 2/8 MSA switch..

Or, if you can log into the web gui for the 2/8, on the admin applet/tab/whatever, there is a button to show a report that you can save to html. post it.
