disabling write cache on MSA 30
I have a MSA 30 disk array running on an Itanium 2 HPUX 11.23.
I wish to disable write cache as I need to confirm the data is written to the disks.
The only command I have in a doc. on the web is "saconfig" which is for RAID. The MSA is NOT a RAID subsystem.
Does anyone know how I can get into the configuration of the diskarray to disable the cache ?
Thanks in advance
JUP

Re: disabling write cache on MSA 30
As you correctly say: the MSA30 is not a RAID subsystem - it is simply a disk drive enclosure, so there is not cache involved.
There are caches on the disk drives but any sane operating system will not enable writeback caching there...
You need to find out how the MSA30 is connected to your server so find out if some component is using writeback caching in-between.
