Disk compability between VA7110 & MSA500
Hi,
I have a old VA7110 unit siting down there. I want to remove the hard disk and use it for DL 380 proliant server G3.
The following is the model of my VA7110 disk. I just wondering can I remove the casing and put the hard disk into a MSA500 compatible case and use it.
A6192A Enterprise Class 36 GB 15K RPM FC HDD
A6193A Enterprise Class 73 GB 10K RPM FC HDD
A7288A Enterprise Class 73 GB 15K RPM FC HDD
A7289A Enterprise Class 146 GB 10K RPM FC HDD

Re: Disk compability between VA7110 & MSA500
Not possible. The VA7xx0 storage arrays use fibre channel disk drives while the ProLiant servers and the MSA500 use parallel SCSI disk drives.
