I see that switch port status is 'L'.
Quickloop is globally disabled.
Do need I to configure the specific switch port as Quickloop?
Thanks in advance for any help

Re: DLT E 2/20 and SAN
I am not familiar with this particular
model however, if there is a FC bridge
in it, (A4688A or A4689A) it needs to
be configured as fabric. Anything else
is not supported.

Re: DLT E 2/20 and SAN
Check the configuration of your library. For FC there is the possibilitiy to configure a 'HARD' loop id. If this is the case the unit will always be logging in as loop.

Solutionif you are using a 2/20 tape library with Ultrium tape drives you should have an internal FC bridge installed. Currently the use of an AL_PA is configured, therefore the FC port of the library logs into the bridge as L port (visible with switchshow command)
L-Port means loop port which can be either private or public.
Using quickloop for backup paths is not a good idea. I recommend you to use your Web GUI to change the bridge configuration as follows:
parameter hard AL_PA use: NO
The bridge will now log into the switch as N Port (you see the port with switchshow command as F Port). This is much more reliable for backups as a loop.
Be aware that you should contact your HP support for getting the latest drive and library firmware revision.
hope that helps
