I accidently saw message appearing on 1 of our fc switches. See text below.

Re: error messages on fibre switch - what to do
Hi,
for me this is not error messages. FLOGI and PLOGI are part of the process of connection on a fabric for a node. These messages are just there for info...
Here there are nodes connectiong on port 2 and port 9.

Re: error messages on fibre switch - what to do
The 'problem' is that these machines connected to these ports where not power-cycled nor rebooted, so I would not suspect a plogi or a flogi.
Or do machines plogon and plogoff (??) during the day ?

Re: error messages on fibre switch - what to do
Hi Guus,
it depends on the driver, type of fiber card or firmware used but yes you can see P(ort) logons and F(abric) logons during the day (so not related to rebooting servers i.e)
If i.e. a zone change occurs or the upper layer management software (if their is one)does certain actions some drivers do go out and contact the Name server in the SAN to know about the changes that took place and update their tables, this goes together with the above login's taking place and is no problem as such.
Obviously you can also have a problem on the SAN or SCSI resets occured i.e.
Check to see if it are always the same ports that re-login over a period of time and see where those ports are located in and investigate what might have happened with them around the date/time they login to the switch again.
- The "INFO FW-CHANGED" is a Informational
message from Fabric Watch on the Brocade
switch
Check here for the details on those kind of messages here :
