EVA 5000 not boot !!!
Our Eva5000 not boot with next symptom data:
When we power on the HSV110 controllers not boot and on first controller we see message "SCANNING DISK" and on second controller we see message "Activated SCSYS".
So, in it moment one disk permanently flash of red LED.
We try to resetting controllers and disk into his position - it not help.
The same way as we try in controllers for monitoring of events - abortively too because controllers not in fabric.
What your can advise for resolve it ?
Has some different way for access to disks shelves ?
BR,
Efim.

Re: EVA 5000 not boot !!!
Disk indicating red LED seems to have gone bad. Replace this disk with good one and then check the status of EVA5000

Mahesh

Re: EVA 5000 not boot !!!
Did you perform the correct startup sequence? Turn on disk enclosures, wait for spin up a few minutes, then turn on the controllers?
If you turn on only the first controller after all disks finished the spin up, can it boot?.
If so, then turn on the second controller, if the firmware is bad, i will load it from the first controller.

Re: EVA 5000 not boot !!!
You definitely need parts and support.
Get that disk replaced.
Not sure maybee its one of the first five disks as mentioned above.
Go to your appliance and download the events bin file and get that sent in to hp with your case. You can glance through it and see if you notice any failures while your waiting for support.
Bad disks can do weird things to EVA5000s that are not supposed to happen.
Keep your firmware up to date on these.
I hope your data is ok. Good luck.
