EVA 8100, XCS 6.220
Command View EVA 9.3
With a Windows 2008 cluster (5 servers) and a bunch of vdisks presented to all 5 servers, what would be the recommended preferred path for the vdisks?
Currently some are set to "path A-failover/failback" and some are "path B-failover/failback". Would that cause any problems?

Solution
No. This setting simply tells the EVA which controller is "managing" the virtual disk for pathing and load balancing purposes.
You should be fine, but if you do a little digging you can probably tweak the path setting by figuring out which disks are getting hit harder (more i/o) to them and making sure those are split as evenly as possible. (if not already split)
Just because you have 10 disks, 5 on a and 5 on b does not mean it's optimal. The 5 on a might have heavy I/O loads while the 5 on b have lesser loads.
