EVA : Finding serial numbers on running disk's?
Is it possible to find the serial number on running disk's ??
I can see it's model number, but need the serial number, with out shutting the EVA down. ??

Re: EVA : Finding serial numbers on running disk's?
There are at least 3 or 4 numbers on the sticker tacked to the disk drive and as far as I can tell only one of them is relevant for warranty. I doubt that you can read it through the electronic interface.

On a "normal" ATA disk with S.M.A.R.R you can get the number when it's running..
Ohh well, things are never that easy !!

Re: EVA : Finding serial numbers on running disk's?
only likely information from '$SSSU show disk full' is ID part. But I didn't check, if it's SN relevant. Probably not.
On EVA you can define an time out, for disk replacment. Initially it's 60 seconds. For this period of time you should be able to pul out the disk and return it back without no impact to the disk group. First, you have to select Remove in CV disk page. But it's not suported as a save operation I think. I wouldn't try it in production environment.
