EVA Hardware Config Guide
Hi all,
I have been looking for the EVA Hardware Config Guide, but cannot locate it.
I found this thread: EVA 5000 Expansion. But the links only lead to an error page.
I need the document to set up an EVA3000 to make sure the cabling is correct. If I remember correctly the document should contain both EVA3000 and 5000.
Can anyone provide a working link?
Thanks
Christian

Re: EVA Hardware Config Guide
I have seen many problems at HP site, where the page cannot be located but try refreshing the page or try some other time, it will probably work.
For the Hardware config guide see here:

Re: EVA Hardware Config Guide
Hi,
The way you configure an EVA3000 is the same as a 5000 anyway apart from:
Only one loop pair [1a & 1b]
backend loop switches are NOT used.
If you carn't find the info then here is a quick guide:
EAB: - connect the shelves to the nearest port and connect to the EMU BOTTOM port.
The controllers use a "Y" cable
NOTE: do not use EAB id 7 for anything but ctrls, but if you are sticking to a standard 3000 type config then the bottom two shelves should be 1, then 2, your ctrls 3 or 4 [dosn't matter which one] and then 5,6 for the other two shelves. Make sure you have EAB terminators top & bottom.
Host ports:
VCS V3.xxx crossed config = FP1 from one ctrl & FP2 from the other ctrl to one fabric switch & then repeat for the other ctrl
VCS V4.xxx straight = both FP1's to one fabric switch repeat for other ports
Mirror port:
connect both mirror ports together.
Loop 1A.
Start at the TOPMOST shelf in your config and connect the 1a port cable to the TOP port of the A I/O module. Now connect the BOTTOM port of this module to the TOP port of the A I/O module underneath this shelf. Repeat until you get to the last/bottom shelf. BOTTOM I/O port of bottom shelf I/O module then connects to the BOTTOM ctrl 1a device port.
This = TOP down.
Loop 1b
This = BOTTOM up
From the TOP ctrl connect the 1b port to the BOTTOM shelf BOTTOM port of the B I/O module. Now go from the top port of the same B I/O module the bottom port of the I/O module in the shelf above. Repeat until you get to the top shelf. Now connect the TOP port of the last B I/O module to the BOTTOM ctrl 1b device port.
Power:
Connect one power cord from each side of the cabinet to each shelf/ctrl to give you N+1 cabling.
That should do you.
Mark...
