EVA shared between two machine
Hello,
I have an EVA300 and a XP512 attached to one HP-UX box.
A new machine has been attached to the same EVA and XP512.
Two volume groups on EVA need to be moved from a system to the other one.
The thecnician says the disk are visible on the new server.
Basically i will do:
vgexport -m vginfy.map -p -f vginfy.dsk vginfy
then I need to modify the file:
vginfy.dsk
I cannot understand wich are the disk (the path) on the new server that belong to the vg (the old one) i need to move.
Many thanks
Angelo

Re: EVA shared between two machine
Hi Angelo.
Do you have secure path installed?
If it is installed
=> spmgr display
Check the LUN WWNID, this is the same on the both the servers.
So you find the relation between the LUN and device files

Re: EVA shared between two machine
Best way to do this is on your new server, get a listing of all cXtYdZ (ioscan) and get the VGID of each disks flagging for the VGID value you have in your map file.
You get the VGID of each disk via:
echo 0x2010?2X|adb /dev/dsk/cXtYdZ|expand|tr -d " "|sed "s/2010://"`
Based on this, it should be easy to craft a script..
