EVA4400 - Decrease LUN space
Hello everyone, this is my first post here!
I've got an EVA4400 with some LUNs, one of these presented to some hosts of virtualisation environment with 750GB of capacity (Fiber Channel RAID5).
For restrictions of my VMware version, it only accepts datastores of 500GB maximum, so I've got 250GB of space wasted...
I don't know if I can simply request 250GB less from 750GB LUN to get 500GB LUN according to VMware.
The problem is that is a critical datastore in production environment.
I can imagine that decrease action would take free space of this LUN to adjust space...
I appreciate very much you help!

Re: EVA4400 - Decrease LUN space
If the LUN was configured with "Thin Provisioning" it is possible to shrink the size.
There was an adviosry on this feature with the previous FW revision. It is available at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c03051546&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=3664763
Details about Thin Provisioning is available at http://h20195.www2.hp.com/V2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA3-2640ENW.pdf
