Eva4400: some beginner question

Please help if you can.

My first SAN is coming at home today,i have connected contrller left1 to disck right2

and controller right1 to disck left2,then i did the same with controller left2 to disck right1

and controller right2 to disk left1.

Another question,how to put the management module?

Seems a bit out of the case and don't wanna force/broken.

I have tried as manual said to connect DP1B with I/O BP2 and BP1A with I/O AP2

I have this results

"cell is in unknow state" from https module management

And two strange thing "04" on disk shelf and one module(the other

is amber blinkin) with connection led dark

Is something broken?

My module is similar to this,had a blinking amber on ! led ,mean total failure?No way to recover?

The "04" is the number of the disk shelf, no error code.

Are you able to connect to the management module?

Is this a used array? Is it currently uninitialized (check from command view)?

This could be a hardware problem with either one of the controllers or the chassis itself. I would try to bring the array to life with a single controller first (CTRL1), the test with the other controller (e.g. swap them around etc).

Using command view initialize the array, do some setup, then insert the other controller.

I have change cables and put new controller

Nothing to do: don't give me WWID,if i set manually error 83 is given

Probably good news,using short cables

Links become green only fixed,not blinking

But still give me no wwid,on log of controller with short

The solution was: bad cables. I have reorder all cables(all short parts n° 432375-001 and HP 509506-001 )

And is work perfect: accept the WUID ,disk ok

Yes was wrong

I had ordered 4 cables on ebay,one 0k...and three faults!

So i re-ordered new cables from other people(uk,usa)

and no problems.

Works perfect

Simple question now: i have one port connected to server,and three free ports,is possible to shutdown them?

They give me error,because connected to nothing
