EVA5000 FC Disk firmware versions

Hello all,
I would like to know what are the latest firmware version for the following FC Disk models:
- BF0725754B
- BF07255B2C
- BD14655B2A
- BD14656ABC
- BD14658225
Are these firmware versions available to the public? and where can I download them? Our EVAs are on VCS 3020.
Thanks!

Re: EVA5000 FC Disk firmware versions

Here is a table for VCS 3.020 and 3.025 - please help yourself ;-)

You cannot download them yourself - please get in touch with your service provider.

Re: EVA5000 FC Disk firmware versions

Where can I download them? what are the links to those files?. I know the update process for both on-line and off-line, but I don't have the firmware files according with the latest publication.

Most of the comments in forums say that only HP is who performs this kind of update.

the same URL states that "Please arrange with your HP Service Engineer or your Service provider to upgrade your StorageWorks Array with this new Disk Drive firmware."

Yes, Maya prove his/her claim. (s)he should also come up with how you can do the meta data scan that is suggested/ required when doing updates from certain versions.

Re: EVA5000 FC Disk firmware versions

The firmware and the pgrade tool are in a site.the firmware file's ext name is .sss!
the files include off type and online type.
but no file for 3020.

According to instructions, you can power off your EVA, and upgrade your disks.

Show us a working URL for VCS 3.020 /3.025!
I know that there is an old image somewhere, but it no longer applies to current configurations.

I'd like to see those instructions...

I've done a few offline upgrades in our lab and watched another one that was carried out by a HP service engineer at a customer's site. In all cases we had to keep the power on, because the disk drives were updated through the controllers.

And I don't think it makes sense to power down one EVA system, carry the drives to another one and upgrade them there.

Re: EVA5000 FC Disk firmware versions

I do not know why someome would power off EVA for upgrade. Power off is pretty unusual action for any storage, except if you move storage to another site.

If I remember correctly, offline disk FW upgrade should be done with one controller powered off. In this case you use .sss file.

If you are planning to do an online upgrade than there are .lod files for every disk model you have. And as a first action you have to ungroup disk, upgrade it, then group it back. Usualy, one by one.

HTH,
Mario.

Re: EVA5000 FC Disk firmware versions

Hp has a tool to upgrade multiple disks at once. It's propiarity. Single disks you can do yourself. Disk has to be taken out of the group.

Firmware you will find at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19319&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=65146&prodTypeId=329290&swEnvOID=54

Re: EVA5000 FC Disk firmware versions

Take a look at the release dates and the disk drive model numbers - I could not find any one that is for the EVA.
