Explanations : Controller Port Topology of VA7400 Array

Dear Friends,
Can you tell - in which situations should we use the following controller port topology for HP VA 7400 Array :

1. Private loop
2. Public Loop
3. Direct attach fabric

Re: Explanations : Controller Port Topology of VA7400 Array

Use Private Loop toplogy if you are:
-Connecting to your disks via a FC-Hub
-Directly connecting your disks to your HBA with no hub or switch.
-Your FC HBA doesn't support fabric login.

Use Fabric Direct Attach if you are:
-Connecting to your disks via a FC-Switch, and your HBA supports fabric login.

Public Loop Topology is a bit of a special case, whic I don't claim to know an awful lot about...

If this relates to your other question, then you have FC-Switch, and HBAs that support fabric login, and you should therefore use Fabric Direct Attach.
