fabric login question
background:
N4000(A5158A)------Silkworm2800-----FC bridge---LTO drive
we have 2 N4000 connected to 2 FC bridges like that. when I swap the FC cable on the bridge end. I expected to see new devices on N4000, but I cannot see either bridges in fact. when I changed the switch port which connected to FC bridge, I can see the bridges.
I guess, when I swaped the FC bridge, the switch sees the original WWN doesn't responding, so IOSCAN shows NO-HW.
anybody help explain this?

Re: fabric login question
Tony,
Do you any zoning on your switch? If you have WWN based zoning, that would explain why the server cannot see any new devices. If it is port-based zoning, and you plug the bridge into a different port, that too would explain it.
Hope this helps

Re: fabric login question
Thanks for your response.
I use port based "Hard-zone". the problem is I cannot explain why i cannot see the changed WWN on the original port.

Re: fabric login question
Hello Tony,
is your problem been solved with updating or removing the zoning?
