Fabric Switch Parameters - Information Required
Hi All,
Does anyone have any link to a document which describes all the fabric switch parameters such as BB_CREDIT, CorePID, etc. and what their recommended values are.
I know a few of them just by experience, however a definitive source of information on the topic would be really nice, I think.
I know the values would vary depending on SAN setups and configs, e.g. Core PID for switch if port_counts<16; core_pid = 0;
if port_counts>16; core_pid = 1:
etc.
Any thoughts, anyone?
Thanks in advance.
Saket.

Re: Fabric Switch Parameters - Information Required
The core PID = 1 is required to allow addressing ports >16 in a switch.
I recommend installing all Brocade SANs with PID = 1 even if you are only using 8 and 16 port switches.
You will find more info in the HP StorageWorks Fabric OS 4.X Procedures User Guide (AA-RVHWA-TE, January 2005) on
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&locale=en_US&docIndexId=179911&taskId=101&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=402293
Cheers
Peter
