FC Card for Windows
Hi,
I have a rp7410 server and MSL 5030 library connected to a storagework SAN switch. The part number of rp7410 FC card is A6795A. Now I want to connect one Wintel machine to the same SAN switch, but I am not too sure what's the model number or part number of FC card I should buy. This Wintel machine is basically a normal desktop PC, I am hoping to get a PCI card. Any idea what's the model number or part number for such a card?
The main purpose of this pc is just to act as a media server to control the MSL 5030 library robotics arms.

Re: FC Card for Windows
Does the pc have PCI Express bus in it? or just PCI?
Pretty sure HP does not make 32bit PCI adaptors, but some 66MHz or higher cards may work in a 32bit PCI slot... you just need to make sure the voltage is right otherwise you risk frying the card or the board or.. et.. you get the picture.
Optionally, you can purchase a really low end workstation or ML server that can handle the card. :o)

Re: FC Card for Windows
this is just a normal PCI slot. actually I am very confused, how many type of FC card we are having. Does it matter which brand of FC card that I can use as long as it the port is correct?
