FCA2101 and Dell Power Edge 2550 server
Hi,
We have a customer who has an EVA5000 V2, there are 4 Compaq Proliant servers attached to the EVA. The fith server the customer wanted to connect is an older Dell Power Edge 2550 server. We installed the FCA2101 HBA's into the server (64bit pci slots) with all necesarry drivers and software (secure path, EVA software...)
The server sees the EVA controllers, but not the presented disks. When I look at the switches, they can't see the HBA's neither.
Does any had this problem before? Or is a Dell Server not supported?

Check FC HBA 'topology' setting in registry. I guess it should be set to fabric (1). Attach supportshow (in case of brocade switch) output zipped to your next reply

Re: FCA2101 and Dell Power Edge 2550 server
The problem is solved.
Our customer had already tried many things, so I decided to remove the HBA's, to remove the config on the EVA and reconfigure it.
First I re??nstalled the HBA's and re??nstalled the necessary software. I checked if the HBA was configured for in Fabric mode, not in loop mode.
After adding the host to the EVA, the customer who was following this carefully told me that he had only configured the host with one port (WWID). I assume this was the problem because now everything works fine.
