FLOGI/PLOGI
Hello World
I get following error on syslogs:
vmunix: 1/0/14/1/0: Fibre Channel Driver detected a parse error in the FLOGI/PLOGI response
vmunix: returned by nport ID 0xfffffe. FLOGI/PLOGI Fail Code = 0x9.
vmunix: 1/0/6/1/0: Fibre Channel Driver detected a parse error in the FLOGI/PLOGI response
vmunix: returned by nport ID 0xfffffe. FLOGI/PLOGI Fail Code = 0x9.
The server is rp7420 with 11.11.
These errors are coming after someone improperly disconnected a disk array from this server.
I wandering if I use
#fcmsutil /dev/tdx disable
will affect other FC connected to SAN.
I mention actually I have 4 FC and only two of them are used.
Or please advise how can I stop these errors.
Thanks

Re: FLOGI/PLOGI
You might have to work with the SAN and Storage teams in order to isolate the nport ID 0xfffffe which is throwing those errors. It could either be a fabric port or storage array port. After that look at properly zoning and masking the nport in question.

Re: FLOGI/PLOGI
Thanks Sandman,
Just an update
I went to computer room and I found the FC cables connected on server side. I follow up the cable and I found them exposed to light. After I disconnected, the errors stops. Possible conclusion, false signals on FC card or possible a switch sensor to validate cable connected, and searching for signals.
Best regards.

You would have to turn off the switch !
This is a well-known address provided by each switch and
used during FLOGI (Fabric LOGIn).
