Re: help EVA4000
If I'm reading your question correctly, the server has two local disk partitions (C and E) and a LUN on the EVA4000.
After resinstalling the OS on the server you still have the two local partitions but you lost the the one on the EVA. Is that correct?
If so, I'd look for a problem with the HBA drivers on the server that was reinstalled. Also the server name confiugred into the EVA does matter. The EVA only looks at the WWN of the ports that are configured for the server in CommandView. So, if you switched the HBAs during the reinstall you'll have to enter the new WWNs into CV.
Lastly, use the device manager to rescan disks and then look under the 'SCSI and RAID controllers' to see if the EVA shows up. If it is unknown, then download and reinstall the HBA drivers from HP. If there are no entries for the EVA (known or unknown) then I would look for SAN issues. e.g., switch zoning, disconnected fiber cables, etc.
