Hitachi USP600
1. Completed zoning by taking port (eg 3A/4A)where server HBA is online and the USP port. Zoneshow confirms that right ports are there in zone. Enabled the configuration too.
2. On array, created host group.
Problem:
while adding new wwn, i dont see HBAs wwn on port 3A/4A. istead getting the wwns on port 5C/6C (but i have not added HBAs ports with these array ports but still getting wwns on these array ports).
I copied the wwn from port5C/6C and pasted it on port 3A/4A new host group. Assigned new ldevs too.
Unix team sayd they are not finding any array lun on server.
Can anyone please help and let me know where i missed ? your response is much appreciated.

Re: Hitachi USP600
we have HP-UX Servers on Hitachi Storage (older 9500). After zoning a server to a storage port for the first time, we always run an ioscan -fnc disk so that the WWNs appear on the storage (this does not happen automatically). Then we can assign the WWN to the Host Group and assign LDEVs. Then they show up in the next ioscan.
Regards,
Stephen

Re: Hitachi USP600
It shows no devices found.
I am not getting any clue where it is wrong.
As cneecitvity between switch ports and HBAs are fine as both switch ports are in online state.
On server fcms also shows HBAs state online.
USP ports are also visible on switch ports and no doubt here as there are other servers which are in other zone with this array port and working fine.
I doubt on HBAs detection on storage as it might be showing the previous wwn entried which i added manually. is there any way to clear out those wwn (not sure where these wwn information are getting saved)which are not with array.

Re: Hitachi USP600
Just to be clear on what Im asking......
With HBA tools on Windows hosts (sorry) you are able to view the WWPN of the USP port that the server HBA's are zoned in with. So if I zone in one of my host HBA's with USP port 3A, the server HBA will login to the USP port and I will be able to see the WWPN of USP port 3A from the server. If Im not zoned in with port 3A I will not be able to see its WWPN.
This is a good way to know if you are zoned in with a particular port. You can then decode the WWPN of the USP port and find out which port it is you are seeing.
