Hi Folks,
I do not have ip access to the principal switch in a fabric.
Can anyone help me with the steps to login to the core via the subordinate switch in the fabric.
Regards,
BIJU

Re: how do i login to a switch inband
It's been some time since I played with it. If I remember all things correctly:
- You need to set Fibre Channel IP addresses on both switches and to a different subnet in advance.
- Then add a route to this subnet on your client by using the subordinate's LAN IP address as a gateway.

Re: how do i login to a switch inband
Oh,
And say i cannot make changes to the management station.
Actually i login remotely to a windows server and then telnet from it. I dont think I can change the default gw of that host.
The principal switch however has an ip as shown in the fabricshow.
Is there another option.
Thanks for responding.

Re: how do i login to a switch inband
You don't need to change the default gw of your Windows box, just add a specific route as in:
